Elke tweede woensdag trekt MOHA door de wijk Pottenberg met een roze vlag en een kar vol koopwaar, getooid met de woorden: ‘Golfbaan, Spa en meer’. Gewapend met een megafoon spreken ze de buurt toe in een onafgebroken woordenstroom vol energie, liefde en betrokkenheid. Beeldend kunstenaar Paulien Oltheten vergezelt hen enkele dagen en richt haar lens op deze bijzondere routine. Ze legt de zorgvuldige ontmoetingen vast en de tomeloze kracht waarmee MOHA mensen uitnodigt om stil te staan bij hun omgeving en elkaar.

Deze wandelingen maken deel uit van het bredere kunstproject We live here, who cares. Onder leiding van MOHA, in samenwerking met Cultuurmakers Maastricht, SoAP Maastricht, VIA ZUID en Woonpunt, wordt het thema zorg onderzocht in de Maastrichtse wijk Pottenberg. Vanuit een flat die eind 2023 gesloopt wordt en vanaf april 2024 vanuit een appartement aan de Kleistraat, verkennen de kunstenaars onderwerpen als woningbouw, buurtzorg en het gevoel van thuis zijn.

De film die tijdens Winternights wordt vertoond, biedt een intieme blik op MOHA’s werk en de betekenisvolle interacties die hun wandelingen teweegbrengen. Het is een uitnodiging om mee te kijken naar de zorgzame energie die zij brengen in een wijk in transitie.

Every second Wednesday, MOHA walks through the Pottenberg district with a pink flag and a cart full of merchandise, adorned with the words: ‘Golf course, Spa and more’. Armed with a megaphone, they address the neighbourhood in an uninterrupted stream of words full of energy, love and commitment. Visual artist Paulien Oltheten accompanies them for a few days and focuses her lens on this special routine. She captures the careful encounters and the boundless power with which MOHA invites people to reflect on their surroundings and each other.

These walks are part of the broader art project We live here, who cares. Led by MOHA, in collaboration with Cultuurmakers Maastricht, SoAP Maastricht, VIA ZUID and Woonpunt, the theme of care is explored in the Maastricht district of Pottenberg. From a flat that will be demolished at the end of 2023 and from April 2024 from an apartment on Kleistraat, the artists explore subjects such as housing, neighbourhood care and the feeling of being at home.

The film shown during Winternights offers an intimate look at MOHA’s work and the meaningful interactions their walks create. It is an invitation to join in and witness the caring energy they bring to a neighborhood in transition.
