Winternights 2020

De vijfde editie van Winternights, op vrijdag 11 en zaterdag 12 december 2020, speelde zich vanwege de coronamaatregelen voor het eerst grotendeels online af. Twaalf makers (collectieven) werken speciaal voor Winternights 2020 toe naar een bijzondere online beleving van hun werk. Kijkers krijgen intieme en nog kwetsbare presentaties voorgeschoteld van crossovers op het gebied van theater, performance, dans, muziek en beeldende kunst. Daaromheen zijn in Maastricht enkele fysieke presentaties te zien die zijn aangepast aan de anderhalvemeter-samenleving.

Op Winternights 2020 is werk te zien van Celine Daemen - Collectief Elan(d) - Gavin-Viano Fabri - Anouk Friedli & Guus Diepenmaat - Rita Hoofwijk - Emi Kodama - Salomé Mooij - Paulien Oltheten - Jennifer Romen - TAAT - Kevin Trappeniers - Lieke van der Vegt. Al deze makers zijn verbonden aan C-TAKT, SoAP Maastricht of VIA ZUID, tevens de organisatoren van Winternights. Zij werken speciaal voor Winternights 2020 toe naar een bijzondere online beleving van hun werk. Na afloop van iedere presentatie is er een online nagesprek.
Experiment en dialoog
Voor jonge makers is het heel belangrijk om tijdens een artistiek traject hun ideeën te kunnen pitchen, te kunnen experimenteren, in contact te komen met publiek en feedback te krijgen. Daar is Winternights sinds enkele jaren de ideale plek voor en dat zal in 2020 niet anders zijn. Het specifieke format van Winternights, waarin (podium)kunstenaars hun nieuwste project kunnen voorstellen en het publiek met hen in dialoog kan gaan, leent zich namelijk ook goed voor het digitale domein.

The fifth edition of Winternights, on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 December 2020, took place largely online for the first time due to the corona measures. Twelve artists (collectives) are working towards a special online experience of their work especially for Winternights 2020. Viewers are presented with intimate and still vulnerable presentations of crossovers in the field of theatre, performance, dance, music and visual arts. Besides, some physical presentations can be seen in Maastricht that have been adapted to the one and a half meter society.

At Winternights 2020 you can see work by Celine Daemen - Collective Elan(d) - Gavin-Viano Fabri - Anouk Friedli & Guus Diepenmaat - Rita Hoofwijk - Emi Kodama - Salomé Mooij - Paulien Oltheten - Jennifer Romen - TAAT - Kevin Trappeniers - Lieke van der Vegt. All these artists are connected to C-TAKT, SoAP Maastricht or VIA ZUID, also the organizers of Winternights. They are working especially for Winternights 2020 towards a special online experience of their work. After each presentation there is an online discussion.
Experiment and dialogue
It is very important for young makers to be able to pitch their ideas, experiment, come into contact with the public and receive feedback during an artistic process. Winternights has been the ideal place for this for several years now and 2020 will be no different. The specific format of Winternights, in which (performing) artists can present their latest project and the public can enter into a dialogue with them, also lends itself well to the digital domain.
